We are pleased to announce an important milestone in the development of Trans Youth Trajectories: the entire website is now available in both French and English.
The launch of this fully bilingual version addresses two complementary objectives, at the core of our mission to promote health and provide access to reliable information for trans youth, their families, and the professionals who support them.
Informing non-French-speaking audiences in the Parisian region
In the region of Paris, many trans youth and their families are not French-speaking, or not sufficiently comfortable in French to confidently engage with complex health-related information. Access to gender-affirming care, care pathways, and psychosocial resources nevertheless remains a major public health issue.
Making Trans Youth Trajectories accessible in English helps reduce language barriers to information, strengthen the health literacy of users and their families, and support informed decision-making based on clear, accurate, and up-to-date information.
This approach is fully aligned with a commitment to health equity and to reducing inequalities in access to care.
Sharing reliable information with international English-speaking audiences
The second objective of this bilingual version is to make the content of Trans Youth Trajectories accessible to an international English-speaking audience, including healthcare professionals, researchers, institutions, associations, as well as trans youth and their families in different national contexts.
Health issues concerning trans youth are currently the subject of intense public debate and uneven media coverage. In this context, it is essential to offer resources that are:
- grounded in the current state of scientific knowledge;
- embedded within a public health approach;
- attentive to the concrete situations of the young people with lived expériences and their families.
Through this approach, Trans Youth Trajectories aims to contribute to a better understanding of the health-related issues surrounding gender transitions among young people, by providing structured, rigorous, and accessible information.
A tool in support of health promotion and care practices
This bilingual version strengthens our ambition to make Trans Youth Trajectories a health promotion tool for trans youth and their families, as well as a resource for support and reflection for healthcare professionals already engaged in these forms of care.
With this in mind, Trans Youth Trajectories has also adopted its dedicated English name, and English-language content is available directly at transyouthtrajectories.com, making it easier to identify and share with non-French-speaking audiences.
